Our inspiration for Reflections 2008 from YES Bhutan Network!

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

As we bid farewell to 2008 and welcome 2009 with open arms, it appears to be a good time to reflect on the unprecedented support and guidance from the persons to whom I owe so much. Among them Madame Poona Ahluwalia, her team at HQ and YES Leaders around the world, who inspired and motivated me through out. I feel proud and honored to be part of YES Campaign and GYAN.
My involvement, opportunity and commitment working with the YES Campaign, under the leadership of Madame Poonam has helped me to change my outlook on life. She inspired and motivated me to involve myself totally for youth issues, which has become my passion. Being part of YES Campaign has given me global platform to share, learn and expose the skills with the people from every walk of life and also my involvement with GYAN’s networking inspired and motivated me equally in the fields of youth and women’s empowerment and employment issues
Making a difference in the society is not so difficult if only one care enough to sacrifice a part of oneself in order to change for better society to live in. Working as a volunteer also has more profound rewards.
Four main objectives of YES Campaign:
(1) convening stakeholders to set global agenda for youth employment
(2) building leadership and entrepreneurship capacity of youth
(3) promoting in-country youth employment linked to development challenges
(4) building multi-sectoral in-country coalitions to develop national strategies for widespread youth employment
We,the YES Bhutan Network and its members will work hard and fulfill the above points of YES Campaign, with the following five core values which contributes for Values for Gross National Happiness(GNH)
1. Respect
2. Responsibility
3. Compassion
4. Integrity
5. Loyality
YES ,we can work together and collaborate under the umbrella of YES Campaign to create 2 million green employment oppoorutnities throughout the world!

YES Bhutan Network

• The YES Bhutan network issues that au fond, involved and propagated in pervading beneficiary awareness among the peoples surviving in this world in vicissitude life, lifestyle and compelling situation that still appears enigma despite, self awareness and substantially informative journals and through many other educative media.

It is learnt through an erudite psychologist that thinking, feeling and willing will never coincide in one man to other. It is substantive and believed to be true. This did not, however desist such three elements and discouraged me from taking my initiative to substantiating international network agenda. And therefore I made up my mind to proceed to Gelephu. This is a district located in the southern central part of Bhutan.

On 24th April 2007, I went to Gelephu on behalf of YES Bhutan network. There I took the privilege to visit higher secondary school obtaining the prior permission from the vice principal of the school. I availed of the opportunity to meet scout leader and teachers besides students.

Despite busy schedule since the school was occupied with its academic session, I received cordial reception and ample time to highlight on the agenda I had enumerated. I enunciated to the students on the issue of fund raising programmes, spreading awareness campaign, substance abuse, employment, hiv/aids and meeting opportunities through hard working.

Indeed, this was my first experience speaking on educative issue disseminating on behalf of international network matters. I was delighted. I considered myself a potential speaker as I could receive applauses during my deliberation. I thank a galore to the international network for giving me such opportunity and courage to initiate and hold meeting to speak on agenda mentioned above.
